Raspberries Canes
How to grow raspberries?

I want to plant a row of raspberry canes in my garden. I need advice on where to plant, soil necessary, varieties, when to plant or any other advice. Thanks

First, decide what kind of berries you want – the summer flowers will not result in the first year, as the fruit on wood produced in the previous year. After they have fruit in June, will have to prune the old canes and tie the new form for next year's harvest. They also need protection from birds, and are prone to mold in damp warm weather when they are fruiting. All this is a lot of problems. If I were you I would fall-fruiting varieties such as Autumn Bliss J, Joan, whose fruit the first year after planting and you just cut the old canes down to the ground each spring ready for new growth. They will give you masses of healthy fruit from August to October, and apart from taking the berry strange birds do not seem to bother with them. Dales as sunny a position as possible, but the shadow of the light of day is fine. Digging of roots of perennial weeds and improve soil fertility with compost or composted manure. Plant now, when the cane shoots are beginning to swell. Signature and water well, water and maintain the first year. Autumn-fruiting varieties only need a little help later in the summer, when the canes get long and start to fall by own weight – one finger in a garden of some sticks around the edge of the bed and round the bow tie long canes to support off the road. Summer fruit varieties have a garden cane per shoot, or, preferably, a more permanent structure to tie to Stroger. Raspberries prefer acid soil, so if yours is alkaline will appreciate a drink OFG Sequestrene (iron Kidnapped) in the spring, to counteract the alkalinity and can take more nutrients from the soil. The lovely thing on raspberries is that they just go and fruiting, and you do not get a glut and then they are more rapid. Yes, it does set the corridors, but you can break them and dig them out, or use them as new plants if desired. They will not take over if maintained with annual pruning of roots and shoots.

Raspberry plants ..?

How big are getting raspberry plants? What size container should I get one?

They get about 4 feet tall. No matter what size container you can get what he has filled, because they spread like wildfire. But if you are just talking about growing them in a small pot, probably will not have much to eat. Most people spend a small portion of your yard with it. I at least get a very big boat.
