We were contacted by the owner of a house in Houston, Texas, who invited us to design a series of gardens and features gardens that complement and expand on the topic Mediterranean home despite his two-story building, and our client wanted a landscape and garden design that follows the same principles of self-contained regularly Linear Motion and subtle.

Create a Mediterranean theme in a garden in Houston, Texas, and the scenery is a bit more complex than might appear at first sight. The south coast of Europe-particularly Italy and Greece is a mountainous area where homes and gardens are built at steep angles and sharp rises vertically. Gardens and fields have been built on terraces that climb the mountains, due to limited planting area and rough, rocky terrain. Limestone is the predominant rock type in Italy and Greece and has become an icon in this part of the world in our collective consciousness. Mediterranean Homes and gardens are historically famous for its white stucco walls, planted and carefully sculpted green spaces embedded in a backdrop of rugged limestone.

The challenge was to take an essentially three-dimensional style of gardening and transferring it to a property in Houston. As we all know, this part of Texas is very flat, so a hillside garden is out of question in the literal sense. However, using a combination of symmetrical forms and linear progressions, along with some innovative garden materials, we were able to mimic several aspects of European land by the sea.

The key to doing was to establish a combination of circular forms and linear patterns of the elements the garden we have designed several. French and Italian gardens out a strong emphasis on order and symmetry, and both tend to use the right angles to establish form. We have planted a variety of low growth around the house and backyard pool to emphasize its walls and corners. He added three major ways to the landscape to create a Houston equivalent of a Mediterranean garden.

The first of these forms was a knot garden centered on the front door, located right in motorcourt front of the house. Boxwood planted in three rows that appeared circular terraces on a hillside. In the center of the garden, we planted Loropatalum knot, marked with a lily Crinum alone as the center piece. The rich purple of Loropatalum called attention, and the vertical dimension added by the lily pointing up in the entrance front of the house.

Turning then to the side of the house, which became an important part of yard into a parterre garden which focused on a glass room large stretching from the west wing of the house. This garden was populated by low growth cut roses whose susceptibility to constant becomes a material ideal plant for Parterre gardens and colorful flowers which did stand out from the multiple viewpoints along this area of Houston. The boundaries of the garden made from the hedges of boxwood, and central lines were made with European limestone gravel that mimics the color of the limestone cliffs of the Aegean and the Adriatic. Then complete the design by adding dwarf yaupon, a small shrub that has a curious resemblance to clouds along the borders of the paths gravel. This helped create the impression that the garden was situated on a hill near the sea and the clouds were rolling across the coast.

One of most attractive attributes of this Houston, Texas property is its great location. The back yard borders a 50-foot gorge carved out of land by a major tributary of Buffalo Bayou. This we found a place in the natural destination for guests visiting the garden after strolling through the West Wing of the house to the pool. To encourage them to do, plant a crepe myrtle alley leading from the pool area all the way back to the woods along the creek. Then built a path of aggregate limestone blocks that began in the Parterre garden, ran to the house to the pool, then ran out of the alley trees to the scenic view of the forest and stream.

What would be the best equipment to buy at a great price?

Recently my computer crashed and now I'm getting in just at school. What store / website I can buy a great team at a good price? I prefer a Dell, but anything besides run Acer. I'm looking on 500GB hard drive or maybe a little bigger, a good CPU, and 4 + GB of RAM.
